This project will require a financing package consisting of a number of sources, including capital funds, grant funds, and perhaps even special financing instruments such as a District Improvement Financing initiative. Part of BSC's scope is to help us determine and apply for different financing sources.

Thanks Julie. That is really interesting. What type of retail establishments are they, and have you seen much turnover in them over the years? This is great information for us to have.

The Mill Bldg makes up a significant percentage of downtown. We would love to see a creative approach similar to what you have proposed utilizing the space as a mixture of residential, office, retail, and parking.

Professional planners at the regional and local levels have a lot of concern with whether or not retail will work in town without a significant increase in commercial (i.e. office) space and residential space in the immediate downtown area. What do you think?

There is some preliminary discussion with having this be a mixed used bldg with ground floor commercial space with residential units above (similar to the new 21 Main Street Bldg). Is that something that you would support?

Sara, are there any particular types of restaurants you would like to see downtown?

Unfortunately the median is necessary to meet federal requirements regarding the train tracks. However we definitely need to take a more active look at making what we currently have more attractive.

We agree. The Riverwalk project that was approved at Town Meeting will enhance the trail that is there to make it usable and will also construct two pedestrian bridges; one at Mill Pond and one crossing the Sudbury closer to Marathon Park.

That is a popular idea. One of the key reasons we would look at expanded sidewalks in selected areas is because it would provide us an opportunity for more outdoor seating.

Julie and Felicia - we are actively looking at that site (along with 1 other) as a potential site for a joint public safety bldg.

Thanks, other than the brick facade, do you think the new building in downtown (21 Main Street) reflects the style of older buildings like Town Hall and Stone's Public House?

Thanks Tessa and Luke! On average, how often do you think you would visit a coffee shop/bakery in downtown? Is it something that you would make a regular stop of during commute times or would it be occasionally during the week or on the weekend?
