To be clear, funding was secured but when the project was bid it turned out not to be enough funding for the Karam Senior Living project (consider: inflation, pandemic-related escalation...).

Cleveland Public Library is 100% committed to a new Walz Branch Library. The project is fully designed as a joint use facility, with the Walz Branch being constructed in conjunction with the Karam Senior Living project (as pictured on the project page) which is being led by Northwest Neighborhoods Community Development Corporation. The project is paused while our partners finalize their budgeting, but we are confident that the combined project will move forward in 2023. Please stay tuned to coUrbanize for future updates.
