Hi Carly, thanks for your contribution! Honoring the history of the Navy Yard and the historically underrepresented communities in that history has emerged as a growing trend and this will certainly be a theme for greater discussion as the project continues. The idea of community gardens has also come up, but not with the focus on Philadelphia's diverse communities, like you outlined. This is another interesting idea which we'll mark for further discussion as the project enters it's final stages. If you have additional thoughts or ideas for how the Navy Yard can best grow and evolve as an equitable and inclusive site, please keep them coming.

Great, thank you Robert and Jan! Natural features, expanded retail options, waterside recreation options, as well as cyclist and pedestrian infrastructure have all been themes that've come up in the project's ongoing community engagement. All of that to say, these themes will definitely continue to be a part of the ongoing project discussions, and may not be in conflict with one another. Especially with cyclist and pedestrian infrastructure being a highly discussed preference for getting around the Navy Yard. Please, though, if either of you have more suggestions for how these features and themes could best interact, let us know more.

Hi Robert, thanks for asking! The project is developing a long-term plan which will guide the Navy Yard's growth and evolution over the coming years. The project is currently completing a review of the current conditions throughout the property and will move to developing action items for future consideration in the next phase. All of this to say, the plan will include milestones and goals, but these are still being developed. Keep following the project for further updates and the final plan for more details, and please keep the questions coming.

Hi Robert, thank you for this feedback! With the Navy Yard's rich history, honoring that is certainly a goal and including the histories of those who've been historically overlooked is a facet of historic preservation that will remain part of this process as we complete the final plan. Beyond historic highlights and education, are there other aspects of creating an equitable and inclusive Navy Yard that you'd like to prioritize?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 10 months, 3 weeks ago
Hi Taurean, thanks for this feedback! Including a wide variety of voices to this process has been a driving goal throughout this process and will certainly be a component moving forward. Beyond inclusion of feedback, is there anything else you'd like to see the Navy Yard prioritizing to create a more equitable and inviting space for all?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 11 months, 1 week ago
Hi there, thank you for this feedback! The timeliness of the bus schedules as well as the ability to track the bus locations, like you brought up, have definitely come up as areas of prime concern when it comes to the shuttle bus system. These will certainly be included in the discussions as we go forward, but as you think about mobility more broadly within as well as to and from the Navy Yard, are there any other concerns or improvements you think we should keep in mind?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 11 months, 1 week ago
Hi there, thank you for this feedback! Speaking of rain covers and bus stop shelters more broadly, are there any other features that come to mind which you would most like to see at these potential shelters?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 11 months, 2 weeks ago
Hi there, thanks for this feedback! When you're thinking about needing more shuttles in the morning, is it just for the main morning commuting hours, or is the frequency of shuttles throughout the day a concern as well? Any additional information or feedback you have on the shuttle or the Navy Yard more broadly would be greatly appreciated as we keep developing this plan.
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 11 months, 2 weeks ago
Hi there, thank you for this feedback! The shuttle schedule has definitely come up as an area of concern and will remain a part of these planning discussions as the plan continues to develop. If there's any other feedback you have for the shuttle system or the Navy Yard more broadly, please keep them coming!

Hi and thanks for reaching out when you saw the signs! This is good feedback and is in line with some of the other feedback we're seeing. Rest assured that the shuttle and its schedule will remain a part of these planning discussions going forward.
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 11 months, 3 weeks ago
Hi there. This is great feedback, thank you for sharing! Connectivity to and from the Navy Yard is certainly a prime area of concern and will remain a part of these ongoing plan discussions. That being said, if there's anything else that could be better about the shuttle system, please keep it coming!
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 12 months ago
Hi there, thank you for this feedback! To make sure we review the right kinds of service improvements, would you like to see more hours of service for the center city route during the weekends, more shuttles per hour, or some combination of these or other improvements?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 12 months ago
Hi there, thank you for this feedback! So we review the right kind of service improvements you have in mind, when thinking about the center city route, would you prefer to see more hours of operation throughout the day, more shuttles per hour, expanded weekday and/or weekend hours, or some combination of the above?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 12 months ago
Thank you for this feedback and we're sorry to hear that there was some service issues. Beyond keeping to the schedule, would an app or other ability to track the shuttles be helpful? If so, what kinds of real time tracking would be best for you (ex. an app with tracking and schedule info, a real time tracker online instead of through an app, etc.)?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 12 months ago
Thank you for this input! When thinking about the types of bus shelters that would most meet your needs, what kind of other features would you find most helpful while you're waiting for the shuttle bus?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year ago
Hi Marian, this is good feedback thank you. Can you share a bit more about what kind of waterfront access and recreation areas you would most like to see?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year ago
Hi Stephanie, this is great feedback! For getting the word out, what ways do you think would be best to inform regular as well as infrequent Navy Yard visitors of the two shuttle system routes?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year ago
Hi Stephanie, thanks for sharing this. The green areas of the Navy Yard are certainly wonderful and enhancing those in the years to come is an emerging theme from the feedback we're getting. SEPTA has actually looked into Extending the Broad Street line into the Navy Yard and their report findings can be found here (http://www.septa.org/notice/pdf/2019-BSL-Extension-Study.pdf). Unfortunately, the study found that the project isn't economically feasible at this time (like you said, it's a huge project), but rest assured a solution to improve accessibility, connectivity, and safe site access between the wider City and the Navy Yard is still part of these ongoing conversations.

Hi Michael, thanks for your feedback! If you wouldn't mind, when you think about how the waterfront could be enhanced or improved, in what ways do you think it can or should be enhanced or improved?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year ago
Hi Carolyn, thanks for letting us know! The shuttle currently runs two routes one to the NRG Broad Street Line station and the other goes to City Center. Both schedules and lines information can be found here (https://navyyard.org/information-and-directions/the-navy-yard-shuttle/) and on the shuttle smartphone app which is also referenced on the shuttle's webpage. We hope this is helpful, but if you have any additional thoughts or concerns with the shuttle, please do share them as they come to you!

Hi Sharri, thanks for providing this feedback! We've noted that waterfront access, natural features, and pedestrian infrastructure have come up a few times in community feedback and these items will certainly remain part of the conversation as the community plan continues to develop.
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year ago
Hi Deborah, thanks for this feedback! We've had a few comments chime in along these same lines and a connection between NRG Station and the Navy Yard will remain a part of the conversation as the community plan develops. Aside from sidewalk accessibility and safety improvements, are there any other features or connectivity options you think should be considered?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year ago
Hi Carmen, thank you for the feedback and kind words! As you think about access to the walls along the waterfront, are there any other accessibility features that come to mind for you?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year ago
Hi Michael, thanks for this feedback! Even if it is outside of the project area, site access points have come up several times in our ongoing chats with community members and it will remain a part of these ongoing discussions. Speaking of cyclists and pedestrians, are there any ways you think the Navy Yard would improve bikability and walkability within the Navy Yard?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year ago
Hi Danielle, thanks for chiming in on this! Cycling and pedestrian access and mobility options are both coming up often as items of concern in our ongoing conversations about this community plan. Both of these will certainly remain a part of the conversation as the plan continues to take shape, so please keep these ideas flowing as they come to you.
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year ago
Hi Kristin, thanks for the feedback and ideas! As you think about these kinds of activities and amenities, are there features you think we should keep in mind that would help support the little libraries, FPC, and/or lawn art installations?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year ago
Thanks Nathan, we appreciate it and are glad that you're finding ways to enjoy the Navy Yard for both work and play! As the Navy Yard grows and evolves, natural features will certainly be included as will pedestrian-friendly infrastructure.

Thanks for calling this out, Will! We will add this to our continuing discussions around mobility and site access, but please keep the feedback and ideas coming in the interim, either here or by reaching out about joining a focus group (see the updates section for more details).

This is also a good bit of input, Daniel! Separated lanes for cyclists as well as more robust pedestrian infrastructure have come up several times throughout our outreach efforts as well and will continue to be a part of the planning process as we move forward. Thanks for contributing this and please keep the feedback and ideas coming!
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year, 1 month ago
Thanks for this input, Daniel! Mobility and site access are two themes we're consistently hearing about and will certainly be part of the discussion as we continue through this planning process.

Hi Scott,
Thanks for the comment! Access to public transportation to and within the Navy Yard is certainly being discussed for the project. If there are any other mobility or transportation items you want to make sure are raised, please keep the comments coming!
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year, 2 months ago
Hi Scott,
Thanks for this comment! Mobility and transportation are integral components to this project and access to public transit is absolutely a factor. We've previously heard adding in connecting shuttles to nearby rail stations, but we'll add this to the discussion as well. If there are any other items you want to make sure are raised (mobility-related or otherwise), please keep the comments coming!

Hi Steve, thanks for this input! The Navy Yard certainly does have some spectacular access to the Delaware River and water access, as well as water quality and resilience to rising water levels are all items being discussed. If there are any particular water quality design features or public access opportunities you have in mind or would like to make sure we address in this project, please feel free to respond here or add a comment to the map and we'll make sure it's part of the ongoing discussions.

Hi Suzanne, Thanks for the input! Housing has come up in some conversations and there are indeed talks happening now about adding housing to the Navy Yard. You can read about one such consideration here: https://www.inquirer.com/real-estate/commercial/navy-yard-redevelopment-ensemble-mosaic-south-philadelphia-apartments-pidc-mustin-historic-downtown-20200729.html

Hi Rudy, thanks for this additional detail as well! We will keep this in mind as other ideas and input comes in for this section of the Navy Yard. While we're talking about it thought, is there anything else around the car parking and processing facility that you think is great, could be better, or outright missing? Or other suggestions for this wider section of the Navy Yard?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year, 2 months ago
Hi Rudy, thanks for this additional detail! We will keep this in mind as other ideas and input comes in for this segment of the Navy Yard. While we're talking about it thought, is there anything else about this corner of the Navy Yard that you think is great, could be better, or outright missing?
The Navy Yard commented on Philadelphia Navy Yard Connected Community Plan 1 year, 2 months ago
Hi Rudy! Apologies for the delay in getting back to you on this as we wanted to make sure we got a full answer on the map before we responded. You're correct and the map is a little out of date, but the platform was built on top of that map and unfortunately cannot be updated for our project. The hope is that we can still use this map as a representative look at what is at the Navy Yard and where improvements can be made. Please keep an eye out for more ways to stay involved and contribute more to the project!
