Looking forward to seeing a purpose built rental that sets the benchmark for sustainability in Toronto. Another great development for the city from Well Grounded Real Estate.

Yes, it's great. We need more modern rentals based on sustainability but there is always a cost and loss for those currently living in the area. I would love to live in this building but be it built on... Read more...

We, too, want to see more feasible low and mid rise rental projects! We hope this building can be a prototype for what sustainable rental projects can be.

What is your interest in this project?

Creative design and unique use of space. Good luck on the planning approval and development.

It looks like good design.

Thank you! We appreciate this comment. We've worked very hard to make sure this built form is maximally sustainable from an economics perspective, energy perspective and future proofing.

What is the best quality of the neighbourhood? and what needs the most improvement?

Best quality of the neighbourhood is probably the parks/ravines. Biggest improvement that could be made is additional recreation spots for youth

We love this! We are going to try really hard to add a basketball court on the north side of the property that will be accessible to the neighbourhood. However, there are constraints. For instance, a daycare,... Read more...

Learn about our approach to developing Toronto's most sustainable apartment. What questions do you have for us?

Not a question just wanted to share my overwhelming support for a project with such high self imposed sustainability targets, need more of this in Toronto!

We truly appreciate this comment. We want to show that creating sustainable housing is not only attainable, but also economically viable with the right design and building approach.

How do you feel about development on this site?

Certainly an upgrade from the unproductive parking lot that covers most of the site

Yes! we believe so too! not only will the use be more productive and provide the area with much needed large format rental housing in the form of 168 1B, 2B and 3/4B's (some 2 storey), the building will... Read more...

Grown up in the area, had my birthday at the old mcdonald's back in the 90s and love that this site is getting housing of this quality proposed and hopefully built

Thank you Trevor! thanks for sharing this memory with us. In fact, we were the owners of the site back then as well and put the McDonalds there. We're thrilled this Site brought back this happy memory... Read more...

What is the best quality of the neighbourhood? and what needs the most improvement?

A department store like Giant Tiger would be great. I have lived across from this area for 46 years. MacDonald did well there.

That McDonalds was a great tenant, and it was actually one of the first in the City. Before we submitted this proposal for the mixed use apartment building, we tried to best understand what this site could... Read more...

I am not for an 11 story building!

1 supporter

Hi Christine — please see our response below. If we've misinterpreted your concern, please help us understand what we missed.

11 stories is too tall for this immediate area. Too tall. Home owners surrounding the site will lose light and sunshine, privacy, and traffic will be overwhelming on Lynvalley.

What is your interest in this project?

This area was not built for 11 story building. They have increased traffic with new towns across the street and down curlew there is another development being constructed. Too many people in an area designed... Read more...
