Cambridge Ordinance Committee and Planning Board Meeting Dates

We're excited to share that we have been scheduled for our first virtual Cambridge Ordinance Committee hearing on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 5:30PM. You can access the meeting from the City Council’s website: https://www.cambridgema.gov/Departments/CityCouncil. Shortly following that hearing, we will be meeting with the Cambridge Planning Board, also virtually, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 6:15PM. Having the opportunity to meet with the various City Committees and Boards is a monumental step for the project. We are still requesting your continued public feedback throughout these processes as we are anticipating multiple meetings with both the Ordinance Committee and the Planning Board prior to sitting before the full City Council for approval.

Zoning Petition Filed

Thank you all for the insightful input and ideas you’ve shared with us so far. Thanks to you we have accomplished so much already. 

We are excited to announce that we have now submitted a Zoning Petition to the Cambridge City Council. The Zoning Petition outlines the proposed Broad Canal Subdistrict for consideration by the City of Cambridge. Acceptance of the petition and resulting creation of the Broad Canal Subdistrict will pave the way for an improved One and 101 Main Street and activated Broad Canal.

Next step will be presenting the proposed Subdistrict to the Ordinance Committee. The date of which has not yet been determined however, we will provide updates as they occur.

We have appreciated hearing everyone’s thoughts and ideas on the project. We are currently preparing the Zoning Petition for our project for submittal to the City Council. We hope to have an update on the date of the City Council hearing soon.

To recap, during the meeting we presented our plans to rezone the property located at One and 101 Main Street and the Broad Canal, as well as, the subsequent redevelopment of the existing building and activation of the ground level. A major aspect of our discussion was the preliminary nature of the project. While our efforts continue, we still would love to hear your feedback and comments in order to refine our proposal to best fit the needs and wants of the community.

We really appreciate the community turnout and the active participation.

Our next steps include the rezoning efforts to make this redevelopment possible.
