The plan is complete!

After a year-long planning process involving dozens of community groups, 20 agencies, and nearly 500 residents, The Brownsville Plan is now complete! Further updates on the plan and implementation can be found at nyc.gov/brownsville.

What was the Brownsville neighborhood planning process?

Between July 2016 and June 2017, the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) convened a community-based planning process that brought together residents, elected officials, community-based organizations, and other government agencies to create a neighborhood plan aimed at developing a shared vision for the future of Brownsville and better coordinating work happening in the neighborhood. The plan builds on extensive planning work that has been conducted by neighborhood organizations over the past five years, as well as the interagency efforts of the 100 Days to Progress initiative in 2014. The final Brownsville Plan was issued June 1, 2017 at a celebration event in Brownsville. Thank you to all that participated!
