We are thrilled to announce that all three towns voted to approve the zoning change, creating a 40+ acre parcel for Innovation and Technology Business uses in Devens. We could not be more excited to turn our attention towards marketing the site to companies looking to bring new jobs to the region. We would like to thank you for staying up to date on zoning changes in Devens, weighing in during the public meetings, and participating in the Super Town Meetings last night.
We'd like to also share a word of thanks from MassDevelopment President and CEO, Marty Jones:
“Tonight’s approval in Ayer, Harvard, and Shirley to rezone a portion of Devens land for innovation and technology uses will create opportunities for biotech, light industrial, and R&D companies to locate their larger facilities in Devens, boosting jobs and economic activity in the region. I would like to thank the voters in each town for their careful consideration and support of this proposal, and Ayer, Harvard, and Shirley officials for their collaboration and cooperation throughout this process.”

We've enjoyed speaking with many of you and soliciting input from your communities at the two public hearings and the series of six planning board and selectmen meetings held in the three-town area over the past two months. There are just a few days left before the October 24th Super Town meeting at which residents of Ayer, Devens, Harvard, and Shirley will vote on the proposed rezoning project described in detail on the "Info" page. Between now and then we are happy to answer any questions that you may have regarding the proposal either by email or in the comments section of this website.
We also hope that you will keep an eye out for the lawn signs below. Please encourage your friends and family to text the number shown to receive SMS updates about the Super Town Meeting on October 24th at 7 p.m. The location is Cronin Auditorium at The Bromfield School, 14 Massachusetts Ave., Harvard.
We'll see you there!
We can't wait to meet you and hear your thoughts on the rezoning project tomorrow, 6:30 pm at Harvard Town Hall. This event, the first of two scheduled public hearings, will be an opportunity to learn more about the proposed zoning changes and anticipated project outcomes. It will also be a venue to raise questions and concerns about the project and participate in face-to-face conversations with our project team and your fellow community members.
Can't make the meeting? That's OK! You can join us at the next one (9/26 at Shirley Town Hall), email us with your questions (email@example.com) or post your thoughts in the project's online community forum (http://www.courbanize.com/projects/devens-2016/comments).
Thank you for staying engaged and up-to-date with changes in our region. We feel strongly that the proposed rezoning will make Devens even more attractive to cutting edge business and manufacturing facilities. We look forward to working together to bring hundreds of well-paying jobs to Devens!

Based on a number of productive meetings and conversations with our friends and colleagues in Devens, Ayer, Harvard and Shirley over the past weeks and months, MassDevelopment has decided not to attempt to hold a Super Town Meeting before summer vacation starts. We look forward to re-starting the outreach process in September. Keep an eye on this website for updates and thanks for your interest!
