What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

We live next door to this proposed project and along with our neighbors do not approve of a 5 story project on this site. It is entirely out of context for this corner. A five story building would work... Read more...

This seems like a NIMBY response that doesn't take into account the benefits that these types of projects bring. In the long run, this is better for the whole neighborhood, this block included.

Brushing off all opposition to this project as NIMBY is ridiculous and is a scapegoat to the real issue at hand. Different streets have different scales, speeds of traffic, and looks/feels, and so different... Read more...

I think this is a horrible project. Doesn't look appropriate for the neighborhood and it will only intensify the parking problem in the area.

I live at the other end of Woodbine (on W 44th), and traffic (by foot, bicycle, and car) this intersection often. I understand the need for density, but share the Tasseffs' & other neighbors' strong opposition... Read more...

A building of this size sounds silly on Woodbine, sure, but if you say it's on Fulton (which it also is) it's suddenly much more reasonable.

Personally, I'd rather see more development along Madison... Read more...

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

This project does not reflect the look and feel of our historical neighborhood.

I agree 100% too modern for a place right next to a cute bungalow house and pink historical home. The design is nothing worth taking pictures of and sterile at best! Why not get some cute arched windows... Read more...

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

This building is way too tall and does not take into account the feel or look of this neighborhood. Also is there really a need for more apartments in Ohio city? There are so many pending projects that... Read more...

What tenants do we want to attract? In my opinion, we need more housing that is low-cost & also functions as public, free community space. For example, make all apartments 30% of an applicant's income,... Read more...

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

I live directly across the street on Woodbine from this property. The proposed height is a significant issue and is not appropriate for this site (zoning for this location is max 35’ - this is almost twice... Read more...

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

I live two doors to the north of this proposed five story development, the building devalues my property, blocks natural sunlight and turns my backyard into a stage. A three story building is more appropriate... Read more...

What type of retail concepts would you like to see as part of this development?

This project is awful. 8 parking spots for a 20 unit building + retail??? You are going to ruin the neighborhood vibe. And, the small one way street on the corner is going to become a speed-through... Read more...

By having fewer car parking spots, they are actually going to reduce traffic. If the cars have to park on the street, it will work to calm traffic further.

inaccurate - i already seen this one way street turn into a speedway. Jay -do you live in the neighborhood? I do - on that one way street. And, when i lived in the suburbs and would come to Ohio City... Read more...

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

It's too tall! Many regular family houses look out at this property and the proposed space is so much higher than anything on our immediate neighboring streets. It's going to impose on its surroundings... Read more...

Some historic architectural features resembling houses in the area and a brick building would be more appealing....the vertical slats not at all!

How can we ensure this new development embeds naturally into the current culture of the surrounding area?

The project as currently proposed is not appropriate for this site. It is located within the Ohio City Historic District and does not comply with the National Registry's guidelines for new construction.... Read more...

You are so right Charles. My historic home 1 block away will be devalued. At least when the townhouses were built, the developer worked to add design components that blended historically and with the... Read more...

The design does not meet any of the intrinsic features of the surrounding residential area. No parking for 12 of the units - will impact the already overburdened on-street parking. There are too many residential... Read more...

How can we ensure this new development embeds naturally into the current culture of the surrounding area?

This proposed design is so far from embedding into the community I don't know where to start. It's like this developer is sticking a middle finger to the neighborhood. It is way too tall, and will not... Read more...

I think it looks sharp. Varying the types of buildings in a neighborhood benefits it in the long run.

Taste is certainly subjective, but the historic commission rules aren't, and they are the arbiter of taste here. Again, taller buildings are certainly welcome in Ohio City- they run the length of Detroit... Read more...

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

I respect the desire for development, however, some adherence to neighborhood aesthetics and uniformity should take precedent over simply the desire to want to do this development. There are already several... Read more...

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

I love that there is good bike parking/ storage and limited car parking. This area is so walkable and would really draw in people who don't own cars. Any more car parking would jeopardize the scale and... Read more...

I disagree. Cleveland isn’t a city for no cars, so unfortunately all 20+ residents WILL have cars and will end up parking in the street, taking away parking from the residents who live in houses. That’s... Read more...

i agree as well - until we have better public transportation - this concept will NOT work. AND, the demographic of the renter will not understand walkability as they most likely would be coming from a... Read more...

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

This proposal insults all of us who live nearby and who are the community upon which this idea is being foisted. First of all, as a person who lives three blocks away, I'm appalled that this project... Read more...

was just reading an article on cleveland.com about this Fulton Road project. I own a property across the street and I am definitely supporting this project. I just noticed there was a lot of pushback on... Read more...

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

The design is clearly out of touch with the neighborhood and a blatant cash grab attempt to cram in as many units as possible. The umber of parking spaces is far too few. Terrible idea, I am strongly opposed.

avatar
What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

I am pro-development and density, however, this building is too tall for this part of the neighborhood. I would cap it at 3 stories like everything else.
