How can we ensure this new development embeds naturally into the current culture of the surrounding area?

I think this project is a beautiful addition to the neighborhood with both single family townhouses and affordable apartments. The design is well thought out and fits in well with the surrounding buildings.

Great look from the developer. High end materials (standing seam and hardie board aren't cheap) and built at a very complimentary scale to the neighborhood. I'm excited to see this project move forward... Read more...

"Along W. 43rd Place will be four smaller townhomes, known as mews, with an eye towards affordability." I love the focus and intentionality of this project on affordability. I strongly welcome this project... Read more...

The overwhelming majority of comments from within the block group are positive. Keep up the great work! Get it built and then build about 50 more of these around Cleveland :)

Where do you think medium-density housing (townhouses and apartment buildings) make sense in the neighborhood:

I worry about boxing in the existing homes along W 44th and adding more illegal hotels. The current space operates as a full-time airbnb, not an apartment building. If they're going to run a hotel, they... Read more...

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

As density increases, it would make sense to add a red line stop at 44th so that we can continue towards a less car-dependent city. It's about a mile from 44th and Lorain to either the W. 25th or W. 65th... Read more...

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

I'm supportive of this project- we need more density to continue to support small businesses in the area. It's also great that all of the apartments will include balcony or patio space!

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

More condos and apartments in this area is just about the most unnecessary project I can think of. Why not improve the infrastructure of green spaces, remedy the local food desert, or address the issues... Read more...

If anything, I would recommend more density to accommodate future demand and encourage public transit use.

I think multi-use buildings including housing belong along commercial corridors, while medium-density housing (Dip/Tri/Quad, townhouses, and small apartment buildings should be on secondary corridors and... Read more...

Where do you think medium-density housing (townhouses and apartment buildings) make sense in the neighborhood:

A. Too much high density in OC, focus on medium density. Cleveland is not growing, let’s stop acting like it is the fastest growing city. More balconies and greenery needed!

100% agree we should focus on quality of life! I’d like to stay in the city if we decide to raise a family (humans or fur babies) and we desperately need to start designing with women and young kids in... Read more...

Where do you think medium-density housing (townhouses and apartment buildings) make sense in the neighborhood:

I think there are enough of these in the area and that the priority for this type of housing is for short-term residents who will leave (the building? the city? the state?) as soon as something better... Read more...

Where do you think medium-density housing (townhouses and apartment buildings) make sense in the neighborhood:

On the commercial corridors and not typically in the historic districts

I think medium density is very capable of fitting in historic districts. The problem that arises is that developers need to be aware of (or forced to consider about) how new developments fit into the fabric... Read more...

Where do you think medium-density housing (townhouses and apartment buildings) make sense in the neighborhood:

It can fit in any neighborhood. I think the questions is how... and how to make it work within what exists and what may be in the future

What other questions or suggestions do you have about this project?

Overall, I think the design is urban and hip. However, the dark color is dreary, The siding needs to be brighter.

They absolutely make sense in the area. Further, the median density is an ideal transition into a single family neighborhood.
