Imagine Boston 2030 is Boston’s first citywide plan in 50 years. What’s it all about?

The City of Boston is experiencing phenomenal growth.

Between 2010 and 2014, Boston gained nearly 40,000 new residents, equal to 6% growth in our population--double the national population growth of 3%. Fueled by a strong knowledge economy, we gained nearly 45,000 new jobs at the same time.

This growth is essential to our future.

Yet while our city is evolving rapidly with diverse residents and new jobs and housing, Boston faces challenges. Housing prices are increasing, transit networks are strained and systemic poverty persists. Informed by input from you and your fellow Bostonians, Imagine Boston 2030 will preserve and enhance what we love about Boston, while using growth to address our challenges and make our city stronger and more inclusive.
