Phase II of Boston Properties' Kendall Square Development plan consists of 256,068 SF of new commercial space, up to 400 new residential units and 44,704 SF of innovation space seamlessly connected by re-imagined parks, pedestrian connections, and modern cycling infrastructure. Boston Properties is initiating the next phase of Kendall Square's continuing development and fostering vibrant placemaking in the most innovative neighborhood on Earth.

What's Happening Next

Phase I (Currently underway): Construction of Proto residential building (completion estimated for August of 2018), construction of 145 Broadway - future headquarters for Akamai Technologies (on track for 2019 completion).

Phase II: Approval and construction of a new office building at 325 Main Street, construction of a residential tower on the south end of the Kendall Center Blue Garage, and improvements to Broadway Park and the Sixth Street Connector.

Phase III: Demolition of the north side of the Kendall Center Blue Garage to site a residential building, as well as improvements to Binney Park.
