Thank you all for the insightful input and ideas you’ve shared with us so far. Thanks to you we have accomplished so much already.
We are excited to announce that we have received approval from the Cambridge Planning Board and CRA Board for our Master Plan Amendment. Essentially this mean that the commercial density planned at 250 Binney will now be at 325 Main Street. Each of the buildings at 325 Main Street (office building) and 135 Broadway (residential building) will now enter the Design Review phase(s) and will be advanced separately.
Your participation during this process has been more than helpful. Please continue to share your feedback and questions in the comment section.
Thanks!
On December 4th at 6:30pm, the CRA & Planning Board will be hosting a Joint Public Hearing at 344 Broadway Street to discuss our recently released submissions for MXD District. Please take a minute to explore our recent submissions and we look forward to hearing your feedback.
If you’re not able to attend the meeting, make sure to add your ideas and comment on our site.
Thank you!
Thanks to everyone who attended the Planning Board meeting last month. We received feedback on the building design and requests for additional information about changes to the green garage roof. We will be iterating on the designs to incorporate feedback and our team will present the latest work at the next meeting.
We’ve heard great ideas about the importance of affordable housing and what types of stores you want to see in Kendall, especially requests for a grocery store and restaurants. A few neighborhood updates:
- As part of this plan, 135 Broadway will have 20% affordable housing (80-85 units) and 5% middle income housing (20-25 units) exceeding the City’s affordability requirements
- A new Roche Brothers is being constructed at One Broadway and is scheduled to open Summer 2019
- Boston Properties is opening a Cava soon and Blue Bottle Coffee in Spring 2019 at 88 Ames Street
In the meantime, we posted new questions for the community in the comment section. We’re looking for your input on:
- Types of activities and programming for the green space
- The need for for-sale condominium housing
- Ideas for retail that is inviting to the community
Thanks for your feedback and please head to the comments section to continue sharing your input!
Thanks for all the input and ideas!
Based on feedback over the last two months at meetings and on coUrbanize, we have filed our formal application. You can view our application under the info and plans section here.
We hope to see you at our Joint Planning Board and CRA Board hearing tonight October 2nd at 6:30pm at 344 Broadway (City Hall Annex Building). We’ll be presenting our updated master plan, and invite you to join and participate in the discussion.
Please continue to share your feedback and questions in the comment section.
Thanks!

Boston Properties has just launched a new way to give feedback on the Kendall Square(d) project! Keep a lookout for these SMS signs around the Kendall Square Plaza. Text us your feedback to be a part of creating the future of Kendall Square!
So far we've received some good suggestions on the types of retail that people would like to see, such as pharmacy, grocery store, pizza and some "cool" home goods options. Also, providing more affordable housing is also a common theme.
Thank you for all of the feedback we've already received! If you have not already left your thoughts, please do so in the comments section.
