What's in the Works
Just-A-Start (JAS) is planning to develop 23 new units of housing on the existing Linwood Court site as part of an upcoming refinancing. The units will be a mixture of affordable and workforce housing, and give residents the flexibility to rightsize their units. The affordable units are designed for tenants at or below 60% AMI. The 10 units of workforce housing are designed for tenants at or below 120% AMI.
New bike parking will be added throughout the site, as well as several new parking spaces. There are currently 22 parking spaces at Linwood Court, and 19 spaces at Squirrel Brand. The project will add 4 spaces at Linwood, and give Linwood residents the ability to use empty spots at Squirrel Brand. This will result in 45 total parking spots for both sites. Both short and long term bike parking will also be added to the site.
In addition to the new construction, the refinancing will allow for much needed improvements to existing units and common areas.

What's There Now
Linwood Court consists of 45 preexisting units, developed in conjunction with the Cambridge Redevelopment Authority in the early 1970s. JAS plans to refinance the site in conjunction with Squirrel Brand, a 20-unit site located across the street. The refinancing will allow for much needed improvements to existing units and common areas.
What's Happening Next
After gathering and incorporating input from residents and neighbors, plans have been submitted to financing agencies and the city for 40B zoning approval. Once zoning approval is granted, the project design will be further refined.
