About Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry

Founded in 1969, the mission of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM) is to promote shalom (peace, well-being) and justice (right relationship) through a Christian ministry of service and advocacy with those who are oppressed, forgotten and hurting. Learn more about LMM here.

Youth Drop-In Center

The Youth Drop-In Center is a collaborative effort of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM), A Place 4 Me, Cuyahoga County Office of Homeless Services, and Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland. LMM is the operator of the Youth Drop-In Center, and owner of the proposed site located at 4100 Franklin Blvd. LMM, with its predecessors, have used the building for decades to provide a continuum of family and social services to children, youth, individuals and families.

The Youth Drop-In Center is a place where young people between the ages of 16 to 24 who are experiencing homelessness our housing instability will be connected to a broad range of services, in an environment that is safe, secure, comfortable, and non-stigmatizing.

The Center will be open up to 10 hours per day, 7 days per week, and provide housing placement assistance/housing support, benefits assistance, case management, behavioral health care, and other resources. It will also meet basic needs such as access to laundry, hot showers, meals, clothing, and personal hygiene items. It will be a place to form relationships and community with other young people, caring adults, and supportive staff. The Youth Drop-In Center is not a shelter and will not provide overnight bed capacity.

What to Expect:
  • LMM will present at the Ohio City Community Meeting on January 17th, 2023.

  • LMM has filed for a Zoning Review Appeal to contest the decision that this is a non-conforming use.

  • LMM will go to the Board of Zoning Appeals if their non-conformance appeal is denied.
