About the Lowline

The Lowline is a plan to transform an unused, underground trolley terminal into a green space and community hub in the Lower East Side. We'll use solar technology to bring natural light underground, creating an innovative garden that will host year-round activities for all. Neat, huh?

How to Participate

In December 2016, the Lowline organization kicked off a community engagement process to hear what neighborhood residents want to see in this unique place. This page is home for online input. Two easy ways for you to participate are:

Leave us your questions, comments, and ideas in the Comments section.
Participate in an in-person workshop listed on the Timeline. Translators will be present.

Acerca del Lowline

El Lowline es un plan para transformar una terminal de tranvía subterránea en desuso en un parque público y centro comunitario en el Lower East Side. Utilizaremos tecnología solar para traer luz natural debajo de la tierra, lo cual creará un espacio verde innovador que ofrecerá actividades para todas las personas durante todo el año. Genial, ¿eh?
