We need to give more consideration to the esthetics of walking pathways into the city. The more pleasant the pathway, the more likely people will be to use it. We tend to develop hiking areas but neglect... Read more...

Parc Renaissance is great, and believe recreation access along the river is essential to quality of life in our Downtown. I would love to see more of that.

I also believe that music programming... Read more...

They also have the pavilion, not sure if that is the same place. Music every Tuesday night and can be paddled to. And ice cream! :)

I think much of the parking here could be removed to increase the green space. I also think this location offers a prime spot to open up frontage on the river itself.

I think something similar to the "River Walk" in San Antonio, TX would be perfect here. You could have parking at either end for access to the walk. Depending on the amount of shoreline you could build... Read more...

Excellent, Royce! San Antonio is another favorite place of mine, a whole riverfront community!

The San Antonio Riverwalk is unique in that it was the unifying element for major development along the riverfront. Do you think that development of retail and restaurants along the Nashua River would... Read more...

Please consider improving access for small watercraft (canoes/kayaks). Currently such access is very limited and difficult to use. The location isn't too important as long as it has parking nearby and... Read more...

You will be happy to know that improvements have been to access. A lunch is now public on Technology Way. Additionally a new launch was installed on Front Street. There is room for improvement! Let's include... Read more...

Yes! Access for small watercraft, including a small boat rental too!

As a minimum the existing granit step "launch" on front street should be made more user friendly by the installation of a seasonal dock - probably floating, as well as parking reserved for boaters.

There is a great access launch with tons of parking behind the millyard technology park.

A pedestrian bridge to connect the Downtown Riverwalk to the Historic Millyard

There is already a footbridge connecting the mills on each side of the river. From Clock Tower to whatever the new one is, Cotton Mill?

I agree, a pedestrian and bike-friendly crossing here would be a great idea.

Maps and signage in strategic locations to encourage walkers to use the walking trails. Promoting trail usage though "Wellness Walks" at lunchtime.

I think it's most important to make the entire Riverwalk a continuous, clearly delineated path, so people can take a walk for a mile or two without thinking they have lost their way.

Indeed, it can feel a little out of place along the back of the Library and the BAE parking lot. Improvements to the path and lighting would make a big difference.

Excellent Carol; it would be nice if the trail could loop across the river at the rail bridge or equivalent

The library trails are great and should be emphasized more.

Thank you for your input on this plan! Please check in when we publish updates.

The river walk on the Water St side connecting the park and Main St should be rerouted around and attached to 4 Water St (with decking similar to Peddler's Daughter's) thereby eliminating the need to... Read more...

I would LOVE to see the grass at the library parking lot cleaned up along the fence to be a nice park with benches and views of the river.

I totally agree. It would be nice if they could be opened up at points for more sunlight, maybe some sort of food opportunities for local vendors, and maybe some more landscaping with color (flowering... Read more...

I agree! This is a beautiful part of the trails, though not kept up very well.

Mine Falls Park has great trails from the point but there is no easy way to get into the park from here. It would be ideal to create a pedestrian connection over the Power Canal for neighborhood residents.

Providing access here should be combined with some classic lighting to keep the area clean, safe and attractive. Indeed, much of the pedestrian ways around the city could use some improvement in this... Read more...

There are so many children in the neighborhood, this would be ideal. Nashua needs more access to this space.

I absolutely agree! I live on Grand Avenue in this neighborhood, and I walk in the park almost every day. It is a beautiful space and greater access would enhance the quality of life of many struggling... Read more...

This is also an area where the heritage rail trail is close to the canal. An entrance here could easily join the two, taking Nashua one step closer to a comprehensive and unified trail system!

The rail bridge over the Nashua River is very useful but it could use better access to Spruce Street and Canal Street. It could also use some better lighting.

6 supporters

Better lighting sources for sure and added surveillance to keep those walking safer.

In what way is it useful? Is it usable now by pedestrians? What would it take to make it usable by the public? Perhaps just some alerting for the very infrequent train crossings? But the rail line should... Read more...

The rail bridge would require safety improvements before its generally usable.

Signage about the alewife fish passage/runs in this section of the river and the history of the fish runs that took place historically would add a lot to peoples understanding of the value of the river.

Why is this not already a loop trail? There is a bridge at BAE and a bridge at clocktower.

The Nashua River is very hard to access from the Canal Street Bridge Area by BAE. It would be good to create some trails in this location.

One consideration is that the east bank of the river is part of the flood control. In 1936 water was about 2-3 feet above the bank. So cant do anything to reduce height.

There is great access to Mine Falls Park from the Broad Street Parkway but there is no signage to let people know how to get there.
