The pedestrian accessibility could be greatly improved. The pedestrian access at the intersection on Farewell and Van Zandt is terrible and the bridge over the rail is a mess.

Miantonomi Park is so beautiful and has such potential to be even more of a community centerpiece in an already awesome neighborhood. I'm just over the line in Middletown but so lucky to be nearby.

I totally agree, it is one of the most beautiful parks in Newport and the most underutilize. Providing better Bike and pedestrian access to the park would improve its use. Then providing more benches... Read more...

Totally agree! I think Rovensky Park is an excellent model for what could be done at Miantonomi.

Totally agree with this, they have a good track record with their developments and this once would be a great addition to the area. And yes it would greatly help the city the much needed tax revenue.

How might the entrances to Newport better represent the city's history and culture?

Newport is a world class historic destination and yet the current entrance to the city off the Pell Bridge is through a strip center and a cemetery. We can and should do better.
