Community Advisory Committee Roundtable Discussion

On October 28th, the Dublin SCS Community Advisory Committee (CAC) participated in a follow-up round-table discussion regarding the vision for the SCS Property.  The CAC is an advisory group comprised of fourteen local residents with an interest in guiding the vision for the SCS Parcel's development.  The CAC serves as a sounding board for the City's consultant team, testing land-use ideas and providing guidance on the concerns, as well as aspirations for the site from a community perspective.

Opinions within the CAC are varied regarding the balance of amenities and need for market rate housing to cover their expense.  Following extensive conversations, including two group meetings as well as five individual calls totalling over seven hours of input, nine of the fourteen members are leaning towards Option 2, with 3 members leaning towards Option 1, One member abstaining support for any of the options, and one member undeclared.

If you are interested in hearing some of the members points of view, you may watch the video presentation below from our October 28th meeting and download the Virtual Comment Boards (click this link for the pdf).

Virtual Community Meeting #2

Thank you to the members of the public who attended our second Virtual Community Meeting! The focus for this meeting was the discussion of three schemes and their potential to expand benefits based on their economic performance.  The team presented an overview of the three schemes followed by zoom break-out rooms where consultants met with members of the community for an in-depth discussion on the attributes of each option.  The feedback on these three schemes will help us develop a preferred plan in November and December.

Feedback during the break-out rooms revealed a diversity of view points regarding the trade-offs of benefits and allowable density.  Each break-out room last nearly an hour, we greatly appreciate the depth and openness participants provided in their responses to the ideas and questions posed by our consultant teams.  We also greatly appreciate the respect and patience participants provided each other even when coming from distinctly opposite preferences about the future of the SCS Property and how it contributes to life and vibrancy of the larger Dublin community.
