Update on The District at Chauncey Hill

Hello,

With the beginning of the new year we wanted to provide you with an update on our process and our plans regarding the Chauncey Hill Mall.

  • In November, we offered a free slice of HotBox pizza to Purdue students in return for filling out a survey on the future of the development. Over a four-hour period, more than 150 students told us they are looking for outdoor dining opportunities and would like to see a mix of fast food, fast casual and casual restaurants. When the new development opens, they view on-site parking and green space as the most important features, and would like to see a range of programming, from food trucks to a farmer's market to live music on-site. The student insights followed our week-long workshop in July.

  • Over the past few months, plans for The District at Chauncey Hill have continued to evolve. Our development team met with the Area Plan Commission in December to continue the entitlement and local approval process for the redevelopment.

  • While we are moving through the city and county process, we anticipate Chauncey Hill Mall will remain open into the fall. As we know more about our timetable, we will update this page.

Thank you,

Update on the Redevelopment of Chauncey Hill Mall Site

Hello,

Here is a quick update on the redevelopment of the Chauncey Hill Mall site:

  • Over the summer, we held open houses and workshops with the community, gaining feedback into what the community wants from the potential new development. More than 300 people participated and nearly 400 comments have been posted here on coUrbanize.
  • The preferred plan that came out of that process, along with feedback from the community, can be seen on the web site at https://courb.co/chauncey.
  • On Friday, November 2, we will solicit input from Purdue students by offering a free pizza slice at HotBox Pizza. We’d like to invite you to stop by from 1pm to 5pm for a free slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza.
  • By the end of this year, we expect to begin the public review process with the initial phase of construction targeted for late 2019.
  • As the development moves forward, we will keep you posted on progress, and you can always comment at https://courb.co/chauncey. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Trinitas Ventures
