Update #7

Unanimous Approval - Thank You!

On Thursday, April 8th, the Cleveland Landmarks Commission voted unanimously to grant a Certificate of Appropriateness to Waverly & Oak. The approval came one day after receiving unanimous support from the Detroit/Clifton/West Blvd. Historic Design Review Committee.

The new project will deliver more than 17,000 SQ FT of street-level commercial space and 126 residential units to the east end of the Gordon Square Arts District.

We will return to both the Local Committee and the Landmarks Commission to review proposals for exterior lighting, landscaping plans, signage, courtyard design, and additional studies of the Detroit Avenue storefronts, as our plans develop further.

We’d like to thank everyone for the time and effort you’ve dedicated to the conversation about this project. We are grateful for your feedback, opinions, and suggestions on the project as they have helped shape our plans to your vision and the needs of the community.

During Thursday's Commission hearing, the Commission noted the many letters of support they had received regarding Waverly & Oak from members of the public. It is exactly that kind of direct community engagement with the entitlement process that will allow Cleveland to continue its growth, and advance its development into the vibrant, walkable, diverse city we all want it to be!

We’d love to keep hearing from you as the conversation continues. Please continue to leave your questions and suggestions in the Feedback section and stay tuned for further news and updates to come.
