While increased lighting will make the area more accessible, especially in winter, we need to be careful not to create more light pollution. I like the ideas of fountains, murals and sculptures.

I would like to be able to walk along the canal and enjoy trees, grass, etc. - nature. I like the idea of making skating available in the winter, but I would not participate - just enjoy watching. I think bridges are to low, though.

Agree with replacing brick sidewalks. Those who use walkers or have other mobility issues suffer on bricks (not to mention women in high heels). They look great, but are hard to maneuver on and can exacerbate pain for those in wheelchairs.

Replace brick paved sidewalks along Canal St.
(you can preserve the look with stamped/colored concrete ones). A location for food trucks would be great!

The canals are a huge asset and should be developed into a first-class space for relaxation and recreation. I can envision a linear park running along both sides, with skating and hockey in the winter and some kind of boating in the summer.
