The Farmers market
The Farmers market

I love this new location for the Farmer's Market! It feels much more connected to the downtown, and it's so much nicer being away from the traffic of main street. I hope that it becomes the permanent home for the market. Already the market has made measurable improvements to the site, but I could see it growing and beautifying the space even more.

There needs to be pedestrian access somewhere between Main Street and Chestnut Street. Right now the Riverfront Island area is very disconnected from downtown and there is no clear way to travel between them.

The canals are a huge asset and should be developed into a first-class space for relaxation and recreation. I can envision a linear park running along both sides, with skating and hockey in the winter and some kind of boating in the summer.

Would love to see multi-use covered pavilion that could serve as a permanent home for the farmers' market, as well as music and arts events; Public Restrooms; Canals beautified; Extending the walking path along the river up to Veterans Park
