I would also add that high-end clothing retail is not necessarily needed, given Pentagon City is nearby. I hope we prioritize retail options that are actually filling a gap in our neighborhood!

As as current resident in Crystal City, we lack any true innovative dining options, with far too much fast casual and regional/national chains. I hope that this opportunity is used to bring in a destination restaurant with an up-and-coming local chef (NOT Jose Andres or a widespread food group!), ideally with an international cuisine and also serving brunch (we don't have any good options currently). A full-service grocery store, bakery or bagel shop, pet store/shop, bicycle repair shops, and a local non-chain coffee shop are also sorely needed, as none are currently in close walking proximity (perhaps some of these could be added to the underground mall, which is on the decline). Thanks for soliciting public input!

Crystal City needs more life to it. It's very business oriented but needs to offer more to it's inhabitants in regards to nightlight and things to do. Possibly more community events, festivals, make it a destination that is not only pleasant to live in but brings others to it.

The movie theater currently at Potomac Yard is slated to be torn down as part of the development plan for that area.

I would love an outdoor beer garden and music venue. A outdoor play area for kids may be another nice feature.

I’m really excited about new entertainment options and more lush/intimate green spaces anywhere and everywhere in Crystal City. This is a robust project that would bring an amazing and much-needed transformation to this part of Crystal City. Please let us how we, as an enthusiastic & dedicated community, can help make this happen as fast as possible! We need this yesterday!

Connect the new retail structure to the indoor Crystal City Shops walkways. Mid-block crosswalk from 1770 Crystal Drive to the Water Park.

A PROTECTED BIKE LANE PLEASE. Otherwise the bike lanes on Crystal Drive will be EVEN MORE blocked than they already are!

Crystal Drive needs a protected bike lane. This will keep people on bikes off the sidewalks, prevent double-parking in the lanes, and make folks safer. This project shares a block with a future Metro entrance, is right next to Metroway, and has a massive parking garage built into it. This kind of excessive on-street parking is a bad example of transit-oriented development, and should be reconfigured.

More bike parking. Also, please install protected bike lanes! Drivers do not respect the bike lanes on Crystal Drive; they are constantly double parking and not watching out for cyclists while parking. Is that parking really even necessary? There are garages and metro next door. Also, the underground passageways/shops are kind of drab. A Trader Joe's would be nice.

Definitely need to ensure they’re clearly marked: the protected bike lane that passes Bank of America at S Eads and 15th St frequently has cars parked between the curb and the bike lane markers as if the drivers are under the impression its some sort of parking space.

I would like to see protected bike lanes on Crystal drive and 18th street. The unprotected bike lanes in front of good stuff are constantly used as drop off and pick up by cars that block the bike lane. The more bike friendly and safe approach is protected bike lanes like those on south eads by the ART bus facility

A hardware store would be so great. I usually order this kind of stuff online because there is not a hardware store close by.

A bicycle shop near the MVT trailhead would likely do well. Wasn’t there one on 23rd st many years ago?

Boutique beauty (e.g, Aesop skin care), bicycle shop, Asian grocery stores, and a contemporary home furnishings store, (something smaller than a West Elm or Crate and Barrel - anything right now would be better than the total lack of stores in Crystal City)

Also, safer bike access from the southbound side of. Crystal Drive to the MVT trailhead. The projected increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic will likely necessitate a change from what we currently do to access the trail.

Upgrade the Crystal Drive Bike Lane to a protected bike lane otherwise all of the loading & dropoff activity at Central District will make it a repeat of the constantly-blocked bike lane down by Good Stuff Eatery!

I think the Fridays at the Fountains is a great example of how popular CC can be after “core hours”. The combination of live music, outdoor seating, and alcohol creates an atmosphere that encourages people to stay and linger. The new outdoor seating is a great start in making use of previously empty or unattractive locations
