It would be nice if this greenway connected with a bike path that goes into the city center to help bike commuters.

American Provisions, Formaggio Kitchen, Ace Hardware, and Foodie's Market. Are the top things that come to mind. There is a dearth of hardware stores south of JFK. We also don't have many artisanal grocers in the area with quality food products (preferably with a high percentage of local grown made products, like American Provisions).

I'd really love to see a project that can create a new exciting point for interacting with neighbors while also providing opportunities for home ownership at different price points so the neighborhood can remain diverse. I'd like the project to activate new interactions, create a space for popup retail/food service, and deemphasize driving as a standard mode of transportation for daily life.

Small-scale retail is the most meaningful contribution The Shawmut Project could bring to the neighborhood!

Perhaps a small cafe or shop will be included as part of the Fitzpatrick Brothers property development! I believe there is a community discussion coming up next week (Thursday, October 12 at 6:30 p.m.in the library of the Epiphany School) to solicit input on that property development; this would be a great suggestion to raise there.

Having previously lived in Cambridge, I experienced a path from Alewife through Arlington to Lexington and it is beautiful! This proposal suggests public gardens, and i know from past experience the gardens will magically appear as abutters will step up to the plate as it will be their back yards people will pass by. The path in Camb., etc. is used constantly by many, many folks, even for short walks and you can't beat the scenery. And no cars. It's safe as there are so many houses along the route, day or night plus it's a good shortcut from station to station. As for public art, which I completely support, appropriately sized art would also be a plus. And the art would be in a place where there is a lot of "foot traffic". It is a winning proposal. I support this concept in a big way!

The path from Melville Ave to Centre street is wonderful. The only thing that seems missing is around Shawmut station. The promenade from the station toward Melville is perfect with it's signs about local foliage. However, the promenade toward Centre street from the station looks like a beautiful walk in a cute neighborhood leading to nowhere. It would would be great if there were a small cafe (like Homestead) and/or a cheese shop (like American Provisions) and/or bakery (like Flour) along that promenade.

Biking/walking/jogging path that is alighted as to not flood abutters would be wonderful. It would be nice is the path had art installations (maybe work with other Boston departments to get artists housing near the path for exchange of regular art installations?). Most importantly, it should be a safe and peaceful path for commuters and recreational athletes to enjoy at all hours.

I am in a unique position an an abutter to the Greenway. Our condo building is at 1861 Dorchester Avenue. I am 100% for the Greenway and would love to see it used by the community. I would also like the project to be respectful to neighbors, including construction schedule and eventual security between our property and theirs. Very, very excited for this project.

Also, lighting used for safety should not be intrusive to abbutters. So, natural berms around fixtures blocking the light from shinning on abutters would be appreciated. The Minuteman Trail does this well, I believe.

The DotGreenway will be best used as a recreational walking / bike path!
A safe, convenient, and beautiful way to walk or bike through the neighborhood, particularly to and from T stations, much like the Community Path in Somerville and Cambridge.
