its been ages since I've been to Redmond. I was involved with an art project between VALA and the historical society. I photographed beautiful downtown Redmond then. It still had character and quaintness with some one story buildings and stores like the western store and the stone building. They were already losing their identity as a city and adding multi story dense buildings that looked like every other city's future. I am wondering if buildings of various heights and and sizes might add interest rather that a cookie cutter approach where the buildings all look alike.

increased density seems to be a necessary evil. Personally I prefer a surface parking lot rather than a dark ominous looking parking garage. Boosting vibrancy seems to be another jargon people like to use, It brings up images of overcrowding where nobody can go anywhere or get anything done and favorite places get displaced. And it takes hours to complete simple tasks.

As I get older mobility is an issue so automobile with easy parking is more important to me. As our society develops from one where you go to the store to one where everything gets delivered, you should consider ease of pickup by vehicles whether its ups, usps, doordash or other delivery services. Park like atmosphere and greenery are always important. I hate projects that say walkability because that implies no cars. We need easy access for all forms of transportation otherwise you will eliminate customers in more rural parts of the county or customers from other cities where transportation is a nightmare.
