I can’t believe that we have been discuss this development process since 2018, going on five years now.At this point I just want to know when is it going to start because I’m basically paying market rent for working, but not getting what I pay for. The longer it takes , the worst things get, which is very frustrating. I’ve seen other developments start and finish within two years.
I don’t mind paying, but I want to live in a decent place. I’ve never lived in such a filthy place, where junkies can just come and sleep and do drugs. The hallway smells so bad because they constantly pee in the hallway. People leave piles of trash and strollers etc.We need a date and not more meetings to talk about what is expected .We’ve already had this conversation many times.

It's ridiculous that you actually have to make yourself and your kids homeless and uncomfortable to get anywhere with BHA. I work, I pay my portion of rent, my mom is elderly. She should be able to get elderly housing and I stay where I am. It makes no sense!!

Jennifer your best bet is to go into shelter to get Housing all they gonna do is consider you now homeless because your currently on her lease. I had went thru this being on my moms lease with BHA, Now I got my own lease thru BHA.

I think that the redevelopment should be done sooner than later. i am so over driving around 20 times with a 2 years old looking for parking. i cant even enjoy my days/ nights out because of this. Also people sleeping in the hallways people not having a key so they are banging on the down stairs door late at night/Morning. I Don't know how many times i called to complain about these nasty big cockroach outside of the building. Seems like nobody cares about the complains should we have to suffer like this because its the projects NO!! its not okay to live like this there are people that get up and work everyday just to come home and live like this.. Not okay i been here for 7 years and i am over it.

I agree...by the time our new apartments are ready for us, our children will all be griwn anyways. Gave us a lot of false hope for somthing that isnt even going to happen until most of us dont even have young children anymore. This is silly to me. And its cruel.

Y'all have no idea what we go thru on a daily living in this dump hole, and to hear y'all tell us no time soon for a redevelopment, My phase is not in the 1st breakdown nor the 2nd, I'm basically stuck here in a deplorable living condition that's not sutiable for a dog to sleep in. My hopes was high with the first meeting, I'm not even excited about the change here anymore, I just want out ASAP.

This whole redevelopment time line is a joke. At our first meeting 3 years ago you told us we should expect to be moving the end of 2019 -20 now at this last meeting you told us another 2 years to start on 3 buildings to complete 5 years down the line. Nothing is changing for us at all anytime soon. You gave us hope and dragged your feet. We see so much change happening around us and none of this is helping us. By the time it reaches my send of the development 15 to 20 years will have passed. I'm sure it will look great when I'm 60. Thanks but no thanks.

I think it shouldn't take take that long to start the process 2020 or 2021 is a really long time you guys don't understand how it-feels living in the place. the homeless sleeping in the halls people breaking the mail boxes people fight in the hall at 4am when theirs people that do work. The drug use here people pass out in the hall not knowing if there dead or alive SMH no parking driving around 6 times just to find parking.

Why are we still living in this dump hole? These developments are not suitable to live in, What taking so long for the next meeting? Maintenance services is horrible, who had to 8 months for installment for a light change. I had it living here, I want out and better then this dump. We need better living environment.

I grew up in the McCormick housing, row house. I understand that all the buildings and row houses will be demolished making way for a 3000 unit complex. The current housing project is solid there's nothing wrong with the buildings/row houses. They'll be tearing down 1027 units to make way for a hugh/mega project. The extras promised in the new project design may or may not appear when the complex opens. Winn Management is building everywhere. All I and others see is "popcorn architecture" everywhere. The current project was built with the best of materials at it's time and has stood like a rock for 80 years!! A 3000 unit housing project, and all the problems it's going to bring, is the last thing Boston needs.

I would like to see more for the children to do around the development like somewhere to be able to play and be able to get help with homework. I'd also like yo see more opportunity for people who live in the development of ALL ages have some HISET(GED) program be offered

Latoya, how did you get into a shelter while being on your mother's lease? I was told I don't qualify to go into a shelter because I am on my mothers lease so not considered homeless. I moved out a few years back in hopes of getting my own housing, but as soon as I left they tried to move my mother into a one bedroom. I pay almost max rent and live in squalor.
