You should put in an Aldi's if they would consider it. I see people defending horribly overpriced local grocery stores in these comments. If you want to shop local that's fine but not everyone can afford to overpay for groceries on a weekly basis.
A greenmarket would be wonderful as well, for those who would like to shop for local produce and reduce their carbon footprint.

More retail for kids! We barely have any place close by to shop for our kids.

i think it is essential for separate areas for children to play, walk dogs and relax and enjoy the view of Manhattan.

I see lots of new dog owners in the neighborhood over the past 4-5 years so a dog run for the pups and some places for people of all ages to sit in the sunshine for a few minutes would be nice.

As far as new retail we need more clothing stores for woman and for children , Steinway has no stores to shop for children

More art spaces, green markets and small business opportunities are the key for revitalizing, yet retaining Astoria unique vibe. Green, neighborhood-friendly spaces for families and children would certainly help that part of Astoria that has been fading a bit in recent years.

Absolutely. I think this development is much-needed for South Steinway, which is getting increasingly dilapidated by the day. We need to avoid urban decay and this is a great way to accomplish that. I know there are many people saying "what about small businesses?", but the problem is that nowadays South Steinway is NOT an attractive place for a small business owner to open up shop. What mom-and-pop wants to open up a store when vacancies abound? This development will make South Steinway more attractive for new small businesses, and be a boon to the existing small businesses.

Hello,
We desperately need a dog park. There are so many dog owners and the parks on the river are too far west for those who live by the subway.
