1- yes, more smaller scale housing to make it more affordable
2- 15 minute city - housing needs to be within walking distance of daily needs such as food and transportation.

You are right, there are no guarantees that residents are from or work in our community, but there is no reason why it couldn't happen either. Thanks to Measure A, there are many affordable housing projects sprouting in all communities in Santa Clara County, so I think the chances of having local residents is good. All residents of the building must have income to qualify, including those in the supportive housing units--all residents must pay 30% of their monthly income toward rent. And lastly, while it is expensive here in the Bay Area, the most expensive place to live is still Hong Kong.

Supportive services for residents is what residents need to become more productive and independent, I can't think of a better use for the commercial space.

Hi! Yes, affordable housing is needed in all of our communities! This is more evident now then ever before! First line workers such as farm workers, grocery store clerks, janitors, etc. would qualify to live near the communities they serve! We need families to stay in our communities and not get pushed out of the area creating long commutes! Housing for all!!
