Is it true that because this project is subsidized by the Feds, it does not prioritize local low-income residents? I am told that was the case for our earlier CLAM project, and therefore does not benefit the community as well as could be hoped for. I believe the village would want this project to benefit out own local low-income folks who really need affordable units. Bringing in new low-income residents who compete for the limited employment available doesn't necessarily help the community.
