More adult locally owned adult, average restaurants or eateries, a great deli and local boutiques…I always thought Old Town had a European charm…it would be nice to preserve that! BTW Trader Joe’s would be great.

We need a big box grocery store that is not boutique (and therefore at a lower price point) since there is nothing around that area unless you want to walk 20min+. Think Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, or Mariano’s.

Florist, bakery (there are enough places to buy macarons and cupcakes but not real baked goods), movie theater, shoe repair/cobbler, quality retail aimed at residents and not tourists, non-bar food restaurants. As someone else noted, there are hardly any ethnic restaurants in Old Town, and none that are considered destination spots. All the exciting restaurants are in Logan Square, West Town, or the West Loop.

Low rise homes that reflect the history and architecture of the neighborhood. Trader Joe’s. No more bars- quaint, local restraunts

No more high rises. Need more townhomes or smaller buildings that echo the historic architecture that so many love about chicago. There are already too many new buildings that are contemporary and feel out of place.

The rise of condos and residents in this area continue. The Plums, the FoxTrots are wonderful additions to the neighborhood, but don't serve the general population who cannot afford or prefer not to shop at specialty or higher-end grocery outlets. We don't need a discount store, but another Treasure Island type. Easily accessible, average prices, diverse choices. I think a Trader Joe's would be great even though it is a bit of a specialty store. I Aldi's and Jewel serve the community, but for many residents in Old Town who do not have a car, they are inconvenient for doing a weekly shopping.
Would like to have a better understanding of why there is such resistance to replacing TI with another grocery store.
