Linda Tseitlin's projects
Instead of parking on both sides of the streets, could we reconfigure the roadways to have angled parking on one side (aiming to preserve the overall number of spaces), and then potentially expand the sidewalks to make room for public art, signage, benches, green areas? Including Central Ave where it is one way, Munroe St, Oxford Street, Washington Street one way zone, Union Street from Broad Street to Central Ave, and others....
I think a lot of people might like to get a better look at the data in them.
It would be really nice to redirect traffic entrances and exits from Central Square in a way that allows the island in the center to be expanded into a larger park/green space with room for small concerts, benches for eating lunch, and connecting with the space currently used for the farmers market. We still need traffic through the square and parking in the square, but we also need safe, attractive, welcoming open space.
