We are in a housing crisis. It's not a shortage. All new housing takes that much more of the burden off this crisis, and adding 711 affordable units is welcome news. Can it be more? Do workers who build buildings need to be paid? Are materials free? Housing is never affordable. It's expensive. The NIMBYs seem numerous because they are the loudest. Many of them are not entrepreneurs and have time on their hands to make this noise. I strongly believe the majority of people living here want this project to move forward. I pray this passes our twisted city government and we are provided more open space in this desolate pocket of LIC / Astoria.
