Improvements in infrastructure are required to accommodate the increase in traffic to the area through a thoughtful urban mobility plan. With the influx of projected traffic to the ‘downtown of the West Island’ a sustainable and integrative planning approach is required with the City of Pointe-Claire. Resource-efficient, clean and competitive urban mobility and transport on a wider scale than the project itself is critical to success of this project.

Although the planting of trees is welcome, this space contains a high percentage of mineralized surfaces. Furthermore, the benefits of a tree canopy will only be optimized when trees reach maturity several years down the road. The additional of substantial green space is critical to help counter heat island effects.
