With the addition of so many people a protected bike lane along Crystal Drive and traffic controls at every intersection with Leading Pedestrian Intervals is important to protect people from increased traffic.

I support the corner building plan because I want an active street next to the new Metro entrance.

This project is on the same block as a Metro entrance and a massive parking garage, and needs reconfigured to keep vehicles where they belong and make safe, mode-separated urban space for non-motorized visitors. The protected bike lane needs to be extended the full length along Crystal Drive. Cyclists are not safe when delivery trucks and cars are parking in the bike lane, which is way too common now. Pedestrians are not safe when cyclists are forced onto the sidewalks because they're prohibited in the bus lanes. By design and enforcement, provide cyclists and pedestrians safe access to and within this area.

I think the Fridays at the Fountains is a great example of how popular CC can be after “core hours”. The combination of live music, outdoor seating, and alcohol creates an atmosphere that encourages people to stay and linger. The new outdoor seating is a great start in making use of previously empty or unattractive locations

The revised Crystal City plan engineered a net loss of park and natural space. This area is already wall-to-wall buildings and concrete/hardscape surfaces. Moreover, these heat-trapping surfaces contribute to the urban heat island effect, adding to climate change and fueling the production of dangerous ground-level ozone. See Arlington's Tree Canopy Assessment, Fig. 15, https://arlingtonva.s3.dualstack.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/13/2018/01/Arlington-County-Tree-Canopy-Report-2016-.pdf. The American Lung Association gives Arlington an "F" grade for smog (ground-level ozone): http://www.lung.org/our-initiatives/healthy-air/sota/city-rankings/states/virginia/arlington.html. As little as 2 hours of exposure to ozone can trigger heart attacks in vulnerable people: https://www.webmd.com/heart/news/20120626/ozone-hurts-heart-doesnt-take-a-lot. A Central District that tries to offset the heat of all that concrete might make a welcome and healthier respite from all the built infrastructure that makes Crystal City so unappealing as a destination.

I would love an outdoor beer garden and music venue. A outdoor play area for kids may be another nice feature.

A PROTECTED BIKE LANE PLEASE. Otherwise the bike lanes on Crystal Drive will be EVEN MORE blocked than they already are!

Crystal Drive needs a protected bike lane. This will keep people on bikes off the sidewalks, prevent double-parking in the lanes, and make folks safer. This project shares a block with a future Metro entrance, is right next to Metroway, and has a massive parking garage built into it. This kind of excessive on-street parking is a bad example of transit-oriented development, and should be reconfigured.

More bike parking. Also, please install protected bike lanes! Drivers do not respect the bike lanes on Crystal Drive; they are constantly double parking and not watching out for cyclists while parking. Is that parking really even necessary? There are garages and metro next door. Also, the underground passageways/shops are kind of drab. A Trader Joe's would be nice.

I would like to see protected bike lanes on Crystal drive and 18th street. The unprotected bike lanes in front of good stuff are constantly used as drop off and pick up by cars that block the bike lane. The more bike friendly and safe approach is protected bike lanes like those on south eads by the ART bus facility

A hardware store would be so great. I usually order this kind of stuff online because there is not a hardware store close by.

Crystal Drive needs a protected bike lane. This development is going to bring more car traffic and more retail to Crystal Drive. There is already a problem with cars stopping or parking in the bike lane. A protected bike lane will also encourage more people to visit this development which is adjacent to the Mt. Vernon Trail. Nothing is more hip and lively for a development than lots of people on bikes and walking.

Upgrade the Crystal Drive Bike Lane to a protected bike lane otherwise all of the loading & dropoff activity at Central District will make it a repeat of the constantly-blocked bike lane down by Good Stuff Eatery!
