I think we should junk this one and have a brand new one in its place. Everyone loved that fountain but why spend more money on an old fountain, lets get a new and bigger one on the same spot.

In 3 years from now Windsor will have a brand new Gordie Howe bridge, a refurbished Tunnel, and potentially a new Peace Fountain. Wow!! Where else has this kind of investment being done in North America??

I think the arch fountain option would be a great structure to install at the reaume park location! The innovative water flow concepts are very intriguing and the addition of such a unique option to the water front would be of great benefit to the community.

This is an opportunity to put Windsor on a map in a way that the previous fountain couldn't. It's an opportunity to build a unique Windsor landmark that's neither a bridge to Detroit nor the Detroit skyline itself. The old fountain wasn't that. Seize this opportunity to create something more beautiful and unique for our underrated city.

Reading that the the region was originally part of the Three Fires Confederacy of First Nations made me think that the fountain could also incorporate fire into it, and in this case, three separate flames to honour this area's heritage. This would of course add to the construction, operating and maintenance costs. Perhaps this could also be accomplished by using lighting to resemble flames to simplify things. I agree that the circular shape should be kept to symbolize unity and continuity. Maybe three tiers or rings of "fire" and water. Not sure that the fountain needs to float, but it could perhaps be built on a structure that sits just below the surface of the water or has a reflecting pool around it, but still kept where it is, surrounded by the river. The original fountain design was simple but it was the water shooting into the air that made it captivating, especially lit up at night. We don't need the Bellagio, but make the water dance.

I envision a future peace fountain to appeal to all peoples, from a land or water perspective. A large-sized fountain would maintain its role as a recognizable landmark. I would love to see it "well-lit" at night - the coloured lights over the years have always brought me pure joy. A fountain that allows for "change" in terms of varying design while operating would peak interest, and encourage the values of versatility and adaptability. When I think of a particular shape that means PEACE to me, I think of a circle, and the unity that it symbolizes. Lastly, if there are ways to allow for the fountains operational usage over a broader time-frame (i.e., earlier in spring / later in fall), I feel any attempt to lengthen its season would be a good thing to strive for.

Fantastic monument worthy of becoming a unique landmark for Windsor and to curious onlookers from the US. Noticeable and unique moments of this size can generate much-needed recognition for Windsor both across the region and online. Unique monuments such as the arch fountain concept are what can bring tourism income and a new identity to Windsor that's neither attached to bridges to Detroit nor to our views of another city's skyline.

Looks fantastic in the video, but not as great as the floating fountain idea. It has less potential to take our city viral with the online community and would be hardly visible from Detroit, failing to capture the curiosity of potential cross-border visitors.

I love that idea, we'll be able to capture the fountain at different angles & positions, generating more opportunities to post unique photos and generating more buzz online.

Yes, keeping things environmentally friendly and keeping human impact to a minimum is very important for our world in the current state.

I love the idea of that tired old fountain is being replaced with such beautiful designs. Love the Big Arch and Globe but any design would enhance the old floating tire that is now there! I walk along the river quite often and will look forward on seeing a refreshing and ever-present fountain! Pam L
