True, there are parking garages, but is it safe for people to walk to/from venues and restaurants from/to the parking garages?

There are WAY too many pot dispensaries in Lewiston in general!

Veterans Park has gotten very crowded lately with so many memorials and things on display - which is great! Interesting, important to honor our veterans, but it makes it a difficult space in which to hold events and which would attract a lot of people.

There is already a beautiful music/entertainment venue just down Oxford Street - The Franco Center. The public needs to be made aware of this exquisite space. The Franco Center does a lot to uplift this community and neighborhood and can be a lucrative collaboration with other nearby businesses.

Although convenient parking areas are important too.

Yes! Or restaurants with outdoor eating along tree-lined canals, instead of empty parking lots.

The canals are a huge asset and should be developed into a first-class space for relaxation and recreation. I can envision a linear park running along both sides, with skating and hockey in the winter and some kind of boating in the summer.

It would be great if it felt safe for patrons to walk to/from Franco Center before or after seeing a show or event to/from the nearby restaurants. More lighting around the area might help. Spruce up the area so that it is more pleasant looking and feeling and maybe residents would take pride in their neighborhood and keep it nice.

This all sounds great! Love the idea of lighting the smoke stack and other historic architectural features. Lighting the waterfall and the canals, also! Would love to see more murals and public art downtown. There are lots of huge blank brick walls to utilize!
