Absolutely. We need development like this to increase the tax base of the city (especially after Covid) - all the more welcome given the significant amount of brand new affordable housing.

It would be great to see more great diverse restaurants. I would also like to see more modern retail stores (not old guard shopping mall stores) and health clinics. I can't wait to see what is in store!

Absolutely! I think a project like this would be great for the community. A true live/work/shop environment could revitalize the local economy, fill vacant properties, and provide much-needed open/green space for the public. Making this development a destination in Queens will increase foot traffic and be a boon for smaller, locally-owned businesses. Seems like a creative use of space that will create jobs and enhance the quality of life for local residents.

Absolutely 100%. Unlike some of the other commenters here I see a NEED for this type of development as well as multiple benefits to it.

Absolutely. The area of this proposed development is largely unsightly warehouses and under-performing businesses. There is no open space, it's unattractive to foot traffic, and it's not serving the areas housing needs as well as it could. I hope a project like this will address many of those things and lead to a total revitalization and revolution of lower Steinway and Northern Blvd.
