Convenience, especially without a grocery store for small items

Its openness and low zoning, a welcome departure from the towering and impersonal forts now proliferating the city, reflect the wisdom of earlier planners in recognizing and protecting the heritage of this district of preserved historic homes and some built after the Great Chicago Fire which are yearly attractions for guided walking tours, as well as the richness of complementary architecture framing this Gateway to the Old Town Triangle with its Moody Church, Chicago History Museum, a performing arts center, art galleries, restaurants and shops, all built as a cohesive unit and on a human scale. This little parcel's development should serve as a reflection of all that and a continuum to the Triangle's legacy.

The view from our condo (1660 N LaSalle) is spectacular, and we are very concerned that this development is going to ruin that

We need a grocery store, and we need the open space to be protected, i.e. NO HIGH-RISE

Something that would blend in with the historic ambiance of Old Town. No high rise. Nothing that would increase the congestion in that area. Perhaps some green space.

Please no high rise at this location. Something that would fit in with the historic ambiance of Old Town.

NO big story HIGH RISE, turning Old Town into a HI-RISE CANYON, with the EXISTING charming architecture of OLD TOWN crammed into the Canyon as "the survivors."

I would like to see to see Old Town stay a quiet and quaint neighborhood. There are enough bars and Hi-Rise in the area.We moved here because it was special and it actually felt like a great place to live and grow old without the hustle and bustle.

The rise of condos and residents in this area continue. The Plums, the FoxTrots are wonderful additions to the neighborhood, but don't serve the general population who cannot afford or prefer not to shop at specialty or higher-end grocery outlets. We don't need a discount store, but another Treasure Island type. Easily accessible, average prices, diverse choices. I think a Trader Joe's would be great even though it is a bit of a specialty store. I Aldi's and Jewel serve the community, but for many residents in Old Town who do not have a car, they are inconvenient for doing a weekly shopping. Would like to have a better understanding of why there is such resistance to replacing TI with another grocery store.
