A few points:

1. Increased density is very sustainable! People who live in cities put much less strain on the environment than people who live in the suburbs. There are a number of reasons for this, but the biggest reason is that people drive less in the city.

2. Regarding blocking the sunlight: A five-story building isn't going to block much sunlight.

3. It is very difficult to get a special permit! It is wrong to say that it's easy to circumvent zoning.

4. I like the design!

5. Profit is not at the top of the list of a NONPROFIT developer of affordable housing.

I love the accessibility by bike and by foot. I love how safe I feel here and how community-oriented the city is.

That Cambridge is the type of city where things like the AHO passed which can result in great new affordable housing opportunities such as this one!

Increased height and density=good urban living=chance to meet a variety of people, all ages, ethnicities, economic statuses=affordable, well-built homes for more people. Don't back down in face of detractors.
