Put in a sidewalk/bike path for the entire length of Victoria from Channel Islands Blvd to the Coast Guard Station.

No one loves the Westerlies, but it's at least built in a place that was . not previously public. The building on the Wharf would be far denser and big enough to overwhelm real public uses.

The playground as shown on the developer's plan has no direct way for the public to access it. The developer has eliminated the current direct access to that space, and picnickers/families have to walk more than the full front of the development to get to the park.

Sadly, all of these kiddie amenities are located a full city block from the nearest parking spot (if a parking spot is even available in the small lot) The developer plans to eliminate the parking spots next to the little park, which already exists in a neglected condition. The new fancy park/picnic area will force families to lug their portable grills and picnic foods and three children along a crowded walkway in front of a huge apartment block. The park will actually become a de facto private enclave for residents of the apartment block and their dogs.

Parasailing is an expensive single-person thrill ride. I've got nothing against it, but it is the opposite of family activity and affordability. Of course it would suit the tech-boy population of the apartment blob. But the real need in Oxnard, especially at this location, is for family water activities including kayaks/pedal boats, marine education boat trips, etc. Accompany it with a land-based "tidal pool" with touchable critters. there are hundreds of more thoughtful possibilities than parasailing.
